November 19th, Norwegian I Was A King goes on stage with fellow Nordic acts TV Off (FIN), Kira Kira (ICE) and Francis (SWE). The evening is curated by BBC Radio 1’s Huw Stephens, and launches the Nordic monthly club night ‘Ja Ja Ja’. An important criterium for being shortlisted is an actual export potential for the UK market.

It’s certainly true that frontman Frode Stromstad creates classic, chunky power-pop melodies, but there’s something loose and slightly anarchic about the band’s approach.
